Fesco launches regular marine line from Vietnam to Russia

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - Fesco Group, the flagship of which is the Far Eastern Shipping Company (Fesco) , has launched a regular marine line, Fesco Vietnam Direct Line (FVDL), that connects ports in Vietnam with the group's Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP), the group said.

"The marine container service will be served by the Fesco fleet and operate on the route Vladivostok - Haiphong (Vietnam) - Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) - Ningbo (China) - Vladivostok. Transit time on route from the ports of Vietnam to VMTP is 9-12 days," the company said.

The container ship A Houou with capacity of 850 TEU, carrying products from Vietnamese manufacturers (clothing, food, coffee and plumbing fixtures), set sale on the first voyage from Ho Chi Minh City to Vladivostok on May 20. Earlier this vessel delivered Russian export cargo to Vietnam - timber, cosmetics, food products and polymer products.

Fesco said that it previously provided services to ship cargo from Vietnam to Russia, but the launch of the regular FVDL will enable the group to improve the quality of service for its customers by eliminating transfer of containers at transshipment ports, reducing delivery times and significantly increasing the throughput capacity of the transport corridor between the two countries.
