Ukrainian Digital Transformation Ministry, European Commission start consultations on Ukraine's joining Digital Europe Program

KYIV. May 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and European Commission Support Group for Ukraine head Katarina Mathernova have discussed Ukraine's joining the Digital Europe Program, Fedorov said on Telegram on Thursday.

"Our efforts are currently focused on Ukraine's accession to the Digital Europe Program. It provides European countries with additional strategic financing for digital transformation of society and the economy. This would enable our country to speed up digital economy development," Fedorov said.

Ukraine might be offered a discount of 95% or even more on a membership fee to join the program, he said.

"This is extreme support for our country while its entire budget is directed at supporting the economy," he said.

"I am sure a positive answer will be given soon," Fedorov said.
