Poland files new lawsuit against Gazprom seeking interest on $1.5 bln overpayment for gas

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - PGNiG has filed a lawsuit against Gazprom and Gazprom Export LLC demanding they pay interest on the $1.5 billion the Polish oil and gas company overpaid for gas supplies in 2014-2020.

PGNiG S.A. said it sent Gazprom a notice on March 31, 2022 on the launch of arbitration proceedings in connection with a demand to pay interest on the amount the Polish company overpaid for natural gas supplied in the period from November 2014 to February 2020. PGNiG expects Gazprom to respond to the request for arbitration.
