IBRD to allot $492 mln for Ukrainian civil service - National Agency for Civil Service head

KYIV. May 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development are discussing the allotment of $492 million as assistance to Ukrainian civil service, head of the National Agency for Civil Service Natalia Aliushyna said.

"Ukraine and the IBRD are negotiating the financing of a project of support to public expenditure to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine," the agency press service quoted Aliushyna as saying.

In her words, the international investment will reach $492 million, to be provided in a euro equivalent.

The project aims at maintaining operations of public administration and its ability to give the full range of essential services to the population, Aliushyna said.

"It's important to retain human resources and to ensure the efficiency and stability of public administration. The country has a critical deficit of budget funds. We are attracting international funds while cutting our expenses," she said.
