Energoatom ups budget contributions by third in Q1 2022

KYIV. May 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine (Energoatom) paid over UAH 4.8 billion to the national budget in the first quarter of 2022, or almost UAH 1.2 billion more than in the respective period of last year.

The company said on Telegram on Tuesday it contributed UAH 800 million to the national budget in April, as well as UAH 1.2 billion worth of excises and VAT in May (as of May 17).

"Despite the martial law, the lesser electric power output, and a substantial debt for supplied electricity, Energoatom is continuing to stably pay salaries and other social contributions, in addition to making every payment related to the provision of nuclear and radiation safety," the company said.
