Ukrainian govt approves soft borrowing of up to Eur150 mln from KfW
KYIV. May 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Ukrainian government has approved soft borrowing of up to Eur150 million from the German state-owned investment and development bank KfW for recovery purposes.
This is a 15-year loan with a five-year deferral of the first payment since the loan opening date, the government press service said.
"Ukraine will receive additional financial assistance from Germany in the amount of Eur150 million, which will increase the overall assistance from Germany to Eur300 million. The funds will support our citizens and help rebuild critical infrastructure," the press service quoted Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal as saying.
In recent weeks, the government has agreed on a $100-million loan with the Japanese government and $1.5-billion financial assistance from the World Bank, Shmyhal said.
The overall financial assistance from Ukraine's international partners has topped $5 billion since February 24, 2022.
