Putin discusses expansion of bilateral relations with new UAE president by phone

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken with new United Arab Emirates President Mohammed Al Nahyan by telephone, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.

"The achieved level of strategic partnership between the two countries was noted with satisfaction and the mutual desire for further progressive development of friendly Russian-UAE relations was expressed. The parties focused on issues of interaction in the trade, economic and investment spheres," the statement said.

The two presidents also "spoke for continuing coordination of topical issues on the international agenda." The parties agreed to maintain contacts at various levels.
