Russia registers 4,122 new cases of Covid-19, 110 deaths in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 4,122 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 2,772 hospitalizations and 110 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"As of May 17, Russia recorded 4,122 cases of Covid-19, while 2,772 patients were hospitalized, up 146% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 75 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in six, and has remained unchanged in four, it said, adding that 1,127 patients were hospitalized the day before.

Another 110 patients died from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, as against 89 the day before.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 421 cases from 4,543 reported on Monday.

"Meanwhile, 5,984 patients have recovered, up 11.2% from May 16," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,268,958 cases of Covid-19, including 377,869 deaths and 17,658,542 recoveries.
