Expansion of NATO military infrastructure to territories of new members to prompt Russia to respond - Putin
MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - The expansion of NATO's military infrastructure into the territories of countries to join this organization will prompt Russia to respond, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"As concerns [NATO's] enlargement, including through admitting new alliance members, Finland and Sweden, I'd like to inform you that Russia has no problems with these countries. And therefore, enlargement through admitting these countries won't pose an immediate threat to Russia in this sense," Putin said at a Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit on Monday.
"However, the expansion of the military infrastructure to this territory will definitely prompt our response. And we'll see what it's going to be like depending on the threats this would pose to us," Putin said.
