Putin highlights Sheikh Al Nahyan's contribution to boosting cooperation between Russia, UAE - Kremlin
MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent telegrams of condolences to representatives of the United Arab Emirates leadership following the passing of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE president and ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the Kremlin press service said.
Putin noted in the telegrams, in particular, that Sheikh Khalifa is associated with a very important period in the history of Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a whole, which is marked by impressive successes in economic, social, scientific and technological development.
"Sheikh Khalifa has done much to strengthen friendly relations and constructive cooperation between our countries," the Russian president said.
The Russian president conveyed words of sincere sympathy to the loved ones and relatives of the deceased, as well as to all people of the United Arab Emirates, the statement said.
