Azerbaijani FM reaffirms Baku's readiness to normalize relations with Yerevan

BAKU. May 13 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan will do what is necessary to strengthen the stability and security in the South Caucasus, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe on Friday.

"Azerbaijan is determined to continue efforts towards strengthening peace, stability and security," Bayramov said.

According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service, Bayramov reaffirmed Baku's readiness to sign a peace agreement with Yerevan and to begin the process of the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. Hence, steps have been taken to begin negotiations on a peace agreement. In particular, chairmen have been appointed and the format for national border delimitation commissions has been approved, he said.
