Russia again sees lowest number of Covid-19 cases since April 2020 - HQ

MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 4,065 new cases of Covid-19, the lowest number since late April 2020, as well as 3,353 hospitalizations and 111 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

"As of May 12, Russia recorded 4,065 new cases of Covid-19, and 3,353 patients were hospitalized, up 196.2% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 73 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in seven, and has remained unchanged in five, it said. Russia reported hospitalization of 1,132 Covid-19 patients the day before.

Another 111 patients died from Covid-19 over the day, as against 98 deaths reported by the headquarters on Wednesday.

The daily morbidity has slightly declined from 4,102 cases recorded on Wednesday. This is again the lowest number of Covid-19 cases seen in Russia since April 17, 2020, when 4,070 infections were reported.

"Another 6,930 patients recovered over the past day, up 37.4% from May 11," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,245,394 cases of Covid-19, including 377,359 deaths and 17,626,344 recoveries.
