Ukraine to create extra strategic fuel reserve - presidential official
KYIV. May 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine will set up an additional strategic fuel reserve sufficient for several months, Rostyslav Shurma, deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
"An additional strategic reserve will be set up, which would be impossible to bomb and destroy. This would provide stability and availability of oil products for the next few months," Shurma said.
The amount of gasoline and diesel fuel being currently imported to Ukraine has increased five-fold over the past month and a half and currently covers the amount consumed daily nationwide, Shurma said.
"Enough gasoline and diesel fuel is being imported to the country to cover the people's daily demand," he said.
