European Commission allocates extra 25 mln euros to support Ukrainian scientists

KYIV. May 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The European Commission is allocating an additional 25 million euros to support Ukrainian scientists, European Commission spokesperson Sonya Gospodinova said in Brussels on Tuesday.

"The Commission has officially announced the launch of the MSCA4Ukraine scheme, part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions. It will support displaced researchers from Ukraine for them to continue their work in academic or non-academic organizations in Europe," Gospodinova said.

This financing will enable Ukrainian researchers to continue their work in the EU and in countries participating in the Horizon Europe program, she said.

"This is part of the EU's response [...] and the need for rapid action to support displaced researchers from Ukraine and enable them to continue their work in Europe, helping to safeguard Ukraine's research and innovation system, and the freedom of scientific research at large," Gospodinova said.
