Russia registers 4,102 new cases of Covid-19, lowest number since April 2020, in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. May 11 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 4,102 new cases of Covid-19, the lowest number since late April 2020, as well as 1,132 hospitalizations and 98 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

"As of May 11, Russia recorded 4,102 new cases of Covid-19, and 1,132 patients were hospitalized, up 13.2% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 42 constituent territories, has decreased in 32, and has remained unchanged in 11, it said.

Another 98 patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, versus 101 deaths reported by the headquarters on Tuesday.

Daily morbidity has declined by 429 cases from 4,531 registered on Tuesday. This is the smallest number of patients since the end of April 2020: Russia registered 4,070 coronavirus infections on April 17, 2020.

"Another 5,043 patients recovered over the day, up 0.6% from May 10," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,241,329 cases of Covid-19, including 377,248 deaths and 17,619,414 recoveries.
