Products of over 50 auto brands included on list for parallel import - Russian ministry

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - The products of more than 50 foreign automobile brands and the largest producers of tires and parts for the automotive industry have been included on a list of products for parallel import into Russia, according to a directive of the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry published on the official portal for legal information on Friday.

The order contains a detailed list of specific goods and product groups to which parallel imports may be applied, allowing import into the country products the sale of which began in other countries without the permission of the rights holder.

The list was drawn up in line with the Eurasian Economic Union's commodity codes for international economic activity. Specific foreign brands are indicated in it, products and materials for which can be parallel imported into Russia.

The list includes brands such as Land Rover, Jeep, Jaguar, Chrysler, Bentley, General Motors , Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC, Mitsubishi, Renault, Hummer, Rover, Tesla , Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Daimler, Maybach, Smart, BMW, Mini, Volkswagen, Skoda, Porsche, Audi, Toyota, Lexus, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Seat, Man, Scania, Isuzu, Maserati, Aston Martin, Subaru, Suzuki, Honda, Acura, Infiniti, Nissan, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Mack Trucks, Volvo, DAF Trucks, Rolls-Royce, and Bugatti.

According to the decree, parallel import is permitted for process fluid and oils, plastic products, and products made from glass and ferrous metals, brass, aluminum, lead, zinc, and tin. Tools, electrics, and various components such as seats and seatbelts are also permitted for import.

The list approved by the Industry and Trade Ministry also includes the largest tire brands, i.e., Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, and Bridgestone.

The mechanism for parallel import will start working from the date that the order is registered by the Justice Ministry on May 6, 2022, the Industry and Trade Ministry said on Telegram.
