Sovcomflot returns most of its fleet to Dubai office's management, begins registering vessels in India
MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - Sovcomflot transferred a large portion of its fleet to the management of SCF Management Services Dubai in April 2022, according to international information system Equasis.
According to Equasis, Sovcomflot transferred 98 of its own and hired vessels to the technical management of the office in Dubai, including the Aframax tanker Nikolay Zadornov, which only recently became a part of the company's fleet.
Almost all of these vessels were already under the management of the office in the United Arab Emirates before January 1, 2022, but Sovcomflot transferred technical management of the vessels to SCF Management Services Ltd registered at the group's headquarters in St. Petersburg at the beginning of the year, according to Equasis.
There are currently no vessels under SCF Management Services Ltd's management, but the company will receive technical management of the new Nikolay Zadornov tanker at the end of May.
Another 23 Sovcomflot vessels will remain under the management of another St. Petersburg-based subsidiary of the group with a similar name, SCF Management Services. Several other vessels are under the management of subsidiaries SCF Geo, SCF Prirazlomnoye, and SCF Sakhalin Vessels.
Most of the vessels transferred to the office in Dubai's management have been certified by various international classification organizations. According to Equasis, 19 vessels under Sovcomflot's management received certification from the Indian Register of Shipping in April.
Data from the end of February indicates that the list of Sovcomflot's fleet of own and hired vessels contained 134 vessels, according to the company's website. The list included 108 tankers of various classes, 14 LNG carriers, and 11 specialized vessels.
