Ukrenergo restores reliable power supply to Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrenergo, the Ukrainian national power grid operator, has restored reliable power supply to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, the company said on its Telegram channel.

"The last 330 kW power transmission line essential for that has been connected to the grid," it said.

Another 330 kW power transmission line in the northern part of the Kyiv region had also been activated the day before, which enhanced Kyiv's supply with electricity and made it possible to start preparations for a new heating season in the area.

Work is currently underway to restore a power substation and a 750 kW power transmission line in the Kyiv region, it said.

"Power consumption has been maintained at a stable level this week, despite the rising temperature. All types of power plants are operating in line with the schedule and the dispatcher's commands," Ukrenergo said.
