Russia bars entry to 31 people from Iceland, Norway, Greenland, Faroes - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Russia has put a number of people from Iceland, Norway, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands on its entry ban list as a reciprocal measure, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Considering that Iceland, Norway, and the Danish autonomous regions of Greenland and the Faroe Islands have joined the European Union's anti-Russian sanctions envisioning, inter alia, personal restrictions against Russian officials, reciprocal measures have been adopted in relation to nine representatives of Iceland, 16 representatives of Norway, three representatives of Greenland, and three representatives of the Faroe Islands," the ministry said in a statement published on its website.

The list includes a number of parliamentarians, government members, business representatives, academics, members of the press, and public figures "who have been actively promoting anti-Russian rhetoric and are engaged in forming and pursuing a policy directed against our country," it said.

These people will be barred from entering Russian territory, it said.
