Rosatom entity Techsnabexport signs contract to purchase uranium from Kazatomprom

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - JSC Techsnabexport, an entity of Rosatom state nuclear energy corporation, has signed a contract to purchase natural uranium in the form of U3O8 from JSC Kazatomprom NAC, according to the disclosure of the Russian company.

The deadline for fulfilling obligations under the material transaction is until the end of 2022, according to the statement.

Information on the amount and volume of the supplies has not been disclosed in the statement.

TVEL, the fuel division of Rosatom, has a joint venture in Russia with Kazatomprom, JSC Uranium Enrichment Center. In March 2020, TVEL purchased 49.999982% of the shares in Uranium Enrichment Center from the Kazakh side, thereby consolidating 100% minus 1 share of the company, with Kazatomprom retaining one share in the JV.

Techsnabexport, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSC Atomenergoprom, is part of Rosatom state nuclear energy corporation, and it is the largest exporter of Russian goods and services for the nuclear fuel cycle on the global market. Its international trademark is TENEX.
