Ex-Minister Ulyukayev may be released on parole after May holidays - court

TVER. April 29 (Interfax) - The Moskovsky District Court of Tver has upheld a motion for the release on parole of former Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev.

"The court processed a parole motion from Ulyukayev's lawyer on April 27. The court upheld the parole motion with due account of the opinion of parties to the proceeding. The ruling has yet to take effect," a representative of the Moskovsky District Court told Interfax on Friday.

He said that the court order regarding the release on parole was delivered to Ulyukayev on April 28.

"He will be released after the May holidays unless the ruling is appealed," the court representative said.

An informed source told Interfax about the ruling earlier.

The ex-minister is serving time in Penitentiary No. 1 near Tver.
