Outbound traffic from Ukraine one-third larger than inbound traffic on April 26 - Border Service

KYIV. April 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The number of people leaving Ukraine on April 26, in the wake of the Orthodox Easter holidays, rose to over 33,000, as compared to more than 23,000 the day before, the State Border Service of Ukraine said on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the number of people entering Ukraine did not see the same significant increase, growing to 24,500, among them over 23,000 Ukrainians, from 19,000, including more than 16,000 Ukrainians, the day before, the State Border Service said on social media.

The number of vehicles with humanitarian cargoes cleared for entry to Ukraine remained relatively small - 220, it said.

According to data released by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees as of 1:00 p.m. on April 26, 5.317 million people have left Ukraine since February 24. Of them, Poland has taken 2.944 million, Romania and Moldova 858,220, Russia 627,510, Hungary 502,140, Slovakia 360,460, and Belarus 24,720.

A total of 1.21 million people have entered Ukraine since February 28, the State Border Service said.
