Poland not receiving gas via Yamal-Europe pipeline since start of week - pumping data

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Poland has not been receiving natural gas from the east via the Yamal-Europe pipeline since early morning on April 25.

According to data from European gas transmission operators, around 04:00 Moscow time on Monday the gas flow at the Kondratki gas metering station fell to zero.

At the same time, it had fallen to zero before - on the night of April 24, gas flow was stopped and then resumed. The same happened on April 1.

Simultaneously gas intake continued through other routes - Teterevka and Vysokoye on the border in Belarus and Drozdovichi on the border with Ukraine.

Poland has been keen to reduce gas purchases in Russia in April as its price according to the month ahead index could be up to 1.5 times the spot price. In these conditions, Polish importers have reduced intake from Russia and have increased imports from spot hubs sites in the west.

The Polish publication Onet is treating the situation as a cessation of Russian gas supplies, as last Friday the deadline to pay for energy under the new ruble scheme expired.
