Baltics-based Luminor Bank suspending payment services to/from Russia and Belarus

TALLINN. April 26 (Interfax/BNS) - Luminor Bank A.S., which operates in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, is suspending payment services to and from Russia and Belarus, the bank's press service told the Baltic News Service.

Luminor is suspending outgoing payments in all currencies to Russia and Belarus as of June 1, and is suspending incoming payments in all currencies from said countries as of July 1.

The bank is waving these services as a preventative measure in order to avoid potential detrimental effects to its customers as well as to the bank itself owing to unforeseen external circumstances.

The only exceptions will be for important government orders and humanitarian aid, for example, medical supplies, pension payments, and others.

The final date for submitting payment orders to Russia and Belarus is June 1. All payment orders submitted after this date will not be executed.

The final day for processing incoming payments from Russia and Belarus is June 30. All incoming payments received by Luminor after this date will be rejected, and the funds will be returned to the sender.

Luminor Bank A.S. is the third largest provider of financial services in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
