Russia registers 7,107 new cases of Covid-19, 176 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 7,107 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 3,161 hospitalizations and 176 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"As of April 26, Russia recorded 7,107 new cases of Covid-19, while 3,161 patients were hospitalized, up 184.3% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 77 regions, has decreased in six, and has remained unchanged in two, it said. There were 1,112 hospitalizations on Monday.

Another 176 patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, as against 159 the day before.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 544 cases from 7,651 reported on Monday. The daily number of infections has been on decline. Tuesday saw the smallest number of cases since the end of September 2020.

"Another 11,899 patients recovered over the past day, up 34.4% from April 25," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,151,895 cases of Covid-19, including 375,237 deaths and 17,495,382 recoveries.
