Japan to increase financial aid to Ukraine to $300 mln - Ukrainian finance minister

KYIV. April 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Japan will increase financial assistance to Ukraine from $100 million to $300 million, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said after meeting with Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki on Friday.

"We already had a decision of the Japanese government to provide to Ukraine financial assistance in an amount of $100 million. During a meeting in person, the Japanese finance minister backed our request to increase the financing to $300 million," Marchenko said on social networks after the meeting.

He also held a meeting with Italian Finance Minister Daniele Franco and discussed with him the new credit program, the details of which are currently not disclosed.
