About 200,000 employees of foreign companies at risk of losing jobs in Moscow - mayor

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - About 200,000 employees of foreign companies that have left Russia or have suspended their operations are at risk of losing their jobs in Moscow, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

"We estimate the number of people who might lose their jobs at roughly 200,000," Sobyanin said.

A program approved by the Moscow government last week aims at supporting employees at risk of dismissal, first of all, the staff of foreign companies, he said.

The program will have a budget of 3.36 billion rubles, including a federal budget subsidy, Sobyanin said.
