Ukrainian Deputy PM Vereshchuk reports evacuation of 2,557 persons on Thursday

KYIV. April 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - As many as 2,557 persons were evacuated through humanitarian corridors on Thursday, April 14, including 289 from Mariupol, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said.

"A total of 2,332 persons arrived in Zaporizhzhya from Mariupol and Berdyansk by personal transport. These include 289 persons from Mariupol and 2,043 residents of towns in the Zaporizhzhya region (Polohi, Vasylivka, Berdyansk and Melitopol)," Vereshchuk said on Telegram.

Meanwhile, 225 persons were evacuated from Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, Rubizhne, Kremenna and Popasna in the Luhansk region, she said.

According to Vereshchuk, nine humanitarian corridors will open for the evacuation of civilians from cities in the Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk regions on Friday, April 15.

"Nine humanitarian corridors have been approved for April 15, 2022," Vereshchuk said.

Evacuation from Mariupol, Berdyansk, Tokmak and Enerhodar to Zaporizhzhya will be conducted by private vehicles, she said.

Evacuation from Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Popasna, Horske and Rubizhne to Bakhmut has also been agreed upon, Vereshchuk said.
