Medvedev appointed head of commission to ensure Russia's sovereignty in critical information infrastructure

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a decree establishing an interdepartmental commission of the Security Council to ensure Russia's technological sovereignty in the development of critical information infrastructure.

In accordance with the decree, which was published on the official database of legal information, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev is appointed head of the commission.

In particular, the commission will elaborate measures to ensure technological independence of critical information infrastructure facilities, equip these facilities with domestic radio-electronic products, technical equipment, software and hardware systems, including software and information support.

The commission includes, among others, the heads of the Interior Ministry, Emergencies Ministry, Ministry of Higher Education and Science, Defense Ministry, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Transport Ministry, Finance Ministry, Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Ministry of Economic Development, Energy Ministry, Central Bank of Russia, Russian National Guard, Foreign Intelligence Service, Federal Security Service, Federal Customs Service, Rosatom, Roscosmos, Rostec and others.
