Fesco, OMK agree on export shipments of metal products

NIZHNY NOVGOROD. April 14 (Interfax) - United Metallurgical Company (OMK) and Fesco Transportation Group, the flagship of which is the Far Eastern Shipping Company (Fesco) , plan to develop export shipments of metal products from Nizhny Novgorod Region to the Middle East, and East and Southeast Asia, OMK said.

OMK's Vyksa Steel Works (VMZ) and Fesco entered into an agreement at the TransRussia exhibition to work together on transportation of pipe and wheel products.

The companies will also develop import shipments of components and equipment for OMK production facilities, the company said.

"Amid the reconfiguration of logistics as a key link in high customer service, choosing a reliable partner is important. The company has successful experience working with Fesco on transporting products from OMK's plant in Chelyabinsk. I am confident that cooperation with the Vyksa plant, the company's largest enterprise, will be just as efficient. The partnership will provide our customers with uninterrupted supplies of products, and guarantees their reliability and timeliness," VMZ head of external shipments Valentina Yeliseyeva was quoted as saying in the press release.

VMZ, OMK's flagship plant, is one of Russia's leading producers of electric welded pipes of various diameters for oil and gas production and transportation, construction and the utilities sector. It is also Europe's largest manufacturer of solid railway wheels for passenger and freight cars, locomotives and subway trains.
