Belarus considering establishment of visa-free system for citizens of neighboring EU states

MINSK. April 13 (Interfax) - Belarus is considering the establishment of a visa-free system for citizens of neighboring states, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Wednesday.

"Seeking to bolster neighborly relations and to develop inbound tourism, the Belarusian side is considering the provision of the right of citizens of neighboring EU states to arrive, leave, and stay in Belarus on a visa-free basis," the committee said.

At the same time, the committee said it was considering a mechanism to allow such citizens to visit the border zone without a pass.

Following the lift of Covid-19 restrictions on crossing the Belarusian border, the number of foreign citizens arriving from neighboring EU states has been on the rise, the committee said.
