Former EY Russian division first of departed Big Four's heirs to change name

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - The former Russian division of Ernst & Young (EY) has become the first heir of the Big Four auditing companies that have left Russia to change the name of its main operating entity.

Ernst & Young LLC has been renamed Center of Audit Technologies and Solutions - Audit Services LLC (CATS-Audit Services), data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The name change took place a month after the announcement that the Russian office would split from EY's international network against the backdrop of Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

"The restructuring involves a number of processes, including renaming legal entities. CATS-Audit Services is a temporary name for the legal entity. We plan to rename all the firms of the Russian practice after the announcement of the new brand," the press service of EY's former Russian practice told Interfax.

Center of Audit Technologies and Solutions is not a new name for EY's Russian office. Ernst & Young Vneshaudit LLC was renamed CATS LLC in May 2019.

EY's former Russian division has several other entities with references to the global network in their names, including Ernst & Young Appraisal and Consulting Services; Ernst & Young Business Consulting; and Ernst & Young Business Academy, the state register shows.
