Head of Ukrainian special service confirms Medvedchuk's detention

KYIV. April 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Head of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) Ivan Bakanov confirmed on the SBU Telegram channel the detention of Viktor Medvedchuk, a Ukrainian parliamentarian and former co-chairman of the Opposition Platform for Life party.

The operation to detain Medvedchuk was conducted on the orders of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky by Security Service officials, Bakanov said.

A photo of a handcuffed Medvedchuk in military uniform was earlier published on Zelensky's Telegram channel.
