Vostochny Cosmodrome may perform 5 or 6 launches in 2022 - Roscosmos head

MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Roscosmos may conduct five or six launches from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in 2022, head of the state space corporation Dmitry Rogozin told reporters on Tuesday.

"This year, the president asked whether we will have the same number of launches as in 2021. Yes, we will. And we confirm that there will be five, maybe even six launches from the Vostochny Cosmodrome this year," Rogozin said.

Rogozin said on January 13 that five launches are scheduled from the cosmodrome in 2022.

There were five launches of Soyuz-2 rockets from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in 2021.

Vostochny is the youngest cosmodrome in Russia. The first launch from the cosmodrome was performed in 2016. Currently, the second stage of construction is underway at the cosmodrome, which will make it possible to launch Angara carrier rockets
