Russian government proposes canceling visa preferences for EU nationals

MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - The Russian government has submitted a bill to the State Duma which, if adopted, will cancel some visa preferences for nationals of most European countries.

According to the document, holders of diplomatic passports who are nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland or Lichtenstein will have to obtain visas to enter Russia, and visa preferences will be cancelled for any members of official delegations, national or regional governments or parliaments, constitutional or supreme courts and for journalists from the aforementioned countries.
