Twitter held liable in Russia over failure to remove explosive making instructions, materials excusing terrorism - court

MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - A magistrates' court in Moscow has registered yet another motion in regard to an administrative offense by Twitter: a failure to remove information prohibited in Russia.

"The hearing against Twitter Inc. is scheduled to be conducted by a justice of the peace from Judicial District No. 422 at 11 a.m. Moscow time on April 28," the court told Interfax.

According to the court, Twitter is charged with a failure to remove materials containing information prohibited in Russia, such as Nazi attributes and symbols, excuses of the activity of extremist and terrorist networks, and instructions on how to make explosives at home.

The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) filed an administrative motion against Twitter. The offense is punishable with a fine of up to 4 million rubles.
