Over 500,000 people registered as new displaced persons - Ukrainian PM

KYIV. April 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) - More than 500,000 people have been registered as new forcibly displaced persons, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

"More than 500,000 new forcibly displaced persons were officially registered in Ukraine as of April 6. Millions of Ukrainians now remain in other countries. The government is working with our diplomats and the governments of partner countries on systematizing assistance to those Ukrainians who have left," Shmyhal said in his address on Thursday evening.

The prime minister said the government is now discussing the need to waive roaming charges, social payments through the Diia public services portal, the launch of the Ukrainian educational process, and inclusion of Ukraine in the common European payment space.

"Our goal is to bring all Ukrainians home," Shmyhal said.
