Australian FM announces sanctions on 67 Russians - media

BRUSSELS. April 7 (Interfax) - Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne has announced the imposition of sanctions on 67 Russian citizens over the events in Ukraine, Western media outlets reported upon Payne's arrival for a ministerial conference of NATO members and partners.

Meanwhile, a press release published on the Australian Foreign Ministry's website said that the restrictions had been imposed, in particular, on head of the Russian National Defense Control Center Mikhail Mizintsev, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov, and Deputy Prime Minister, government chief of staff Dmitry Grigorenko.

State Duma Deputy Speaker Alexander Babakov is also under restrictions.

In addition, Australia imposed sanctions on opposition deputy of the 9th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Oleh Voloshyn.

As of this moment, Australia has imposed sanctions on about 600 individuals and legal entities in connection with the events in Ukraine.
