Temporary closure of 11 airports in southern Russia extended until April 13

MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - The Federal Air Transport Service (Rosaviatsiya) has extended the ban on flights to 11 airports in central and southern Russia for the seventh time, this time until April 13.

"The temporary restrictions on flights to 11 Russian airports, namely, Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista, has been extended until 3:45 a.m. Moscow time on April 13," Rosaviatsiya said.

Airlines are still recommended using the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Moscow to transport passengers to the aforesaid cities.

The other Russian airports, including international ones, are operating as usual, Rosaviatsiya said.

The service imposed restrictions on domestic flights on February 24, the day the Russian special military operation began in Ukraine. The restrictions have been extended several times.
