Ukraine resuming gas re-exports - Ukrtransgas
KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Ukrainian Energy Ministry has resumed the re-export of natural gas, which was suspended on March 3, 2022, Ukrtransgas, the operator of the Ukrainian gas storage facilities, said on Tuesday.
"The changes apply to gas brought to Ukrainian territory starting on April 3, 2022 for its further storage in underground gas storage facilities in the customs warehouse regime, including transportation at the special short-haul tariff," it said.
At the same time, natural gas shipped to Ukrainian territory before April 3, 2022 still cannot be re-exported, but it can be customs-cleared and sold inside Ukraine, Ukrtransgas said.
"We welcome the decision to resume re-exports of natural gas from Ukraine. The resumption of re-export operations is an important message to foreign customers of our services, which currently operate in 27 countries. We hope that, in the new gas accumulation season, they'll view Ukrainian gas storage facilities as a platform for storing natural gas," acting Ukrtransgas CEO Serhiy Pereloma said.
