Over 3,000 evacuated on Monday - Deputy PM Vereshchuk

KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) - A total of 3,376 people were evacuated from populated localities in southeastern Ukraine on Monday, April 4, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said.

"As many as 2,405 people reached Zaporizhzhya by personal vehicles through humanitarian corridors from Mariupol and Berdyansk on Monday. Out of that number, 1,553 people left Mariupol. Besides, 805 people have arrived from towns in the Zaporizhzhya region, such as Polohi, Vasylivka, Berdyansk and Melitopol," Vereshchuk said at a press briefing on Monday.

Meanwhile, a convoy of seven buses evacuating people from Mariupol in the company of a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) remains in Mangush.

A total of 971 people were evacuated from Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, Rubizhne, Kremenna and Horske in the Luhansk region, she said.
