Over 6,200 people evacuated on April 1 - Ukrainian president's office deputy head

KYIV. April 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) - A total of 6,266 people were evacuated from the Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhya regions on April 1, Ukrainian President's Office deputy head Kyrylo Tymoshenko said on Friday night.

In particular, 3,071 people were evacuated from Mariupol, Donetsk region.

As to the Luhansk region, 285 were evacuated from the community of Severodonetsk, 60 from Rubizhne, 1,300 from Lysychansk, 52 from Kreminna and 38 from Popasna.

In Zaporizhzhya region, 452 people were evacuated from the community of Polohi, 180 from Vasylevka, 813 from Melitopol and 15 from Berdyansk.

Zaporizhzhya is awaiting from people who left Berdyansk and Melitopol by buses and in personal vehicles, Tymoshenko said.

"They passed the last checkpoint in Vasylevka. Forty-two buses with Mariupol residents from Berdyansk, 12 buses with local residents from Melitopol, and 300 private vehicle," he said.
