Japan blacklists 4 Russian organizations, 3 Russian citizens over 'breach' of N. Korea sanctions

TOKYO. April 1 (Interfax) - Japan is freezing the assets of four Russian organizations, three Russian citizens and six citizens of North Korea over a violation of the UN Security Council's sanctions imposed on North Korea, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said.

Japan is making its contribution "to international peace efforts aimed at resolving problems related to North Korea," the Foreign Ministry said.

Specifically, the country is taking measures such as "freezing the assets of persons involved in activities that are prohibited by a resolution of the United Nations Security Council," it said.

The latest sanctions introduced by Japan target JSC Apollon, Parsek LLC, RK Briz LLC, and Zil-M LLC, three Russian citizens, Alexander Gaevoi, Alexander Chasovnikov and Roman Alar, and six North Korean citizens.
