Over 4 mln people leave Ukraine since Feb 24 - UNHCR

BRUSSELS. March 30 (Interfax) - More than four million people have left Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian special operation in February, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the UNHCR, about 4.01 million people have left Ukraine, including about 2.3 million for Poland.

More than 608,000 Ukrainians have moved to Romania, about 387,000 to Moldova, about 364,000 to Hungary, and about 281,000 to Slovakia, it said.

The UNHCR said that 350,000 people came to Russia and almost 11,000 to Belarus.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Glinski said earlier that Poland was ready to continue to receive people coming from Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
