Ukraine discussing with int'l partners distribution of IMF SDRs unused by other countries

KYIV. March 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine is discussing with international partners a means for distributing the Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) unused by other countries, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said.

"The budget received more than $3 billion from international partners. But this is not enough. Therefore, we are discussing the mechanism for distributing IMF special borrowing rights that have not been used by other countries," he said on social media on Tuesday.

As reported, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in August announced the launch of the distribution of SDRs for $650 billion, under which Ukraine received more than $2.7 billion (SDR1.9 billion) in proportion to its quota in the IMF.
