Decathlon suspending operations in Russia

MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax) - French sporting goods retailer Decathlon will suspend its stores in Russia due to supply chain disruption.

"In strict compliance with international sanctions, Decathlon notes that the supply conditions are no longer met to continue its activity in Russia. Decathlon has to suspend the operation of its stores," the company said.

The company will continue to support its 2,500 Russian staff, some of whom have been at the company since 2006.

Decathlon has more than 50 stores in Russia.

Its operating company in Russia, LLC Oktoblu, had sales revenue of 21.8 billion rubles and net profit of 408.7 million rubles in 2020, according to SPARK-Interfax.
