Australia imposes sanctions on 39 Russians related to Magnitsky case
WASHINGTON. March 29 (Interfax) - Australia has announced sanctions on 39 Russian citizens related to the so-called Sergei Magnitsky case, Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne said in a statement.
The sanctions will target "14 Russian individuals responsible for the serious corruption" exposed by Sergei Magnitsky and "a further 25 Russian perpetrators and accomplices of his abuse and death" in 2009, the statement says.
"These individuals will be subject to targeted financial sanctions, including asset freezes and travel bans," it says.
