Roskomnadzor launches inquiry into media outlets that interviewed Zelensky

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) has warned Russian media to refrain from publishing an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and an inquiry has been launched with regard to those media outlets that took part in the conversation with him.

"Roskomnadzor warns Russian media to refrain from publishing this interview. An inquiry has been launched with regard to those media outlets that conducted the interview in order to determine the degree of responsibility and undertake retaliatory measures," the telecoms regulator said in a statement.

Previously, "a number of Russian mass media outlets, including those which are foreign media performing the functions of a foreign agent, interviewed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky," it said.

The Russian Prosecutor General's Office will give a legal assessment of the content of the published statements by the Ukrainian president in an interview with a number of Russian media outlets and the fact of their publication.

"The Russian Prosecutor General's Office will provide a principled legal assessment of the content of the published statements and the fact of their publication," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
