Websites of German tabloid Bild and journalist Nevzorov blocked in Russia - Roskomnadzor

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Russian telecoms watchdog Roskomnadzor has blocked access in Russia to the website of the popular German tabloid Bild and the website of journalist and commentator Alexander Nevzorov, Roskomnadzor said.

According to Roskomnadzor's service to verify the blocking of webpages and websites, access to the www.bild.de and nevzorov.tv websites was restricted in Russia at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office dated March 26.

A criminal investigation was opened against Nevzorov, who is currently abroad, on March 22 over the spread of false information about the Russian Armed Forces' activities in Ukraine. It includes fake reports dealing with an attack on a maternity hospital in Mariupol.

Earlier, the websites of a whole range of Russian and foreign media outlets were blocked in Russia at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office after it found what it considers to be false information about the situation in Ukraine, including the Russian Armed Forces' activities there.
