Russia sees 23,280 new Covid-19 infections, 2,203 hospitalizations in past 24 hours - operative HQ

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Russian medics have registered 23,280 new coronavirus infections, 2,203 hospitalizations, and 338 related deaths in the past 24-hour period, the operative coronavirus response headquarters said in a bulletin on Sunday.

"Russia saw 23,280 new Covid-19 cases identified in a 24-hour period as of March 27, 2022. The number of hospitalizations has dropped by 48.5% from the previous day to 2,203," the operative headquarters said.

Russia has seen 338 people die from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, compared to 395 fatalities recorded the previous day.

Russian healthcare authorities registered 24,072 new patients infected with coronavirus the previous day. Russia's daily cases have thus subsided by 792.

The cumulative number of coronavirus infections recorded in Russia now stands at 17,762,742. Russia's Covid-19 death toll has climbed to 367,351. As many as 16,654,231 coronavirus patients have been discharged upon recovery in Russia since the pandemic began in 2020.
